Reuse begins with a careful survey: structure, services, and condition are assessed before any design work starts. We identify what can stay, what must be repaired, and what has to go. That groundwork determines cost, risk, and the building's real potential.
Technical design focuses on what old buildings struggle with: insulation, daylight, acoustics, and fire strategy. Each upgrade is detailed to respect the existing fabric. Drawings are coordinated with structural and services engineers so nothing compromises the frame.
From there, we design a new layer that sits clearly against the old—new partitions, glazing, and services inserted without erasing history. Interventions are kept light and reversible where possible. The goal is a building where old and new read honestly, and where the original structure does most of the work.
On site, we work closely with contractors used to existing buildings, where surprises are normal. Problems are solved as they appear, without losing the design intent. The finished building should feel both historic and current—proof that keeping what exists is often the smarter, greener choice.
